Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1800 - $1890 Location: Albany, GA (Zip: 31701) — Travel Nurse assignment in Southwest Georgia Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN), Observation Unit / Telemetry-capable Unit: 2C Observation Unit (Med/Surg) Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 9/7/2026) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Rotate with permanent staff Dress Code: Caribbean Blue or White (see unit notes) Orientation: 3 shifts Job Requirements / Qualifications Active RN license (Georgia or compact state) — eligible for Georgia nursing jobs BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required NIHSS Certification required Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg (medical-surgical nurse) experience; observation unit or telemetry experience preferred Experience with EKGs and drawing labs preferred; telemetry monitoring experience a plus Comfortable floating to Med/Surg units and working in fast-paced, high-turnover environments Proficient with MEDITECH charting or similar EMR preferred Primary Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in a 22-bed medical observation/telemetry unit Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:5 or 1:6 as required Administer and titrate Heparin drips and other infusions per unit policy Perform EKGs, draw labs, and interpret telemetry monitoring independently Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers (up to 16/day) efficiently Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and the central monitoring team; charge nurse may take assignments Maintain accurate, timely documentation using MEDITECH charting system Adhere to unit dress code and complete department-specific orientation Join our healthcare team as a Travel Med/Surg RN in Albany, GA — perfect for travel nurses and medical-surgical RNs seeking competitive pay and hands-on observation/telemetry experience.
