Description

• Develop sector expertise through continuous engagement with institutional investors, corporate management teams, industry experts, consultants, and ecosystem participants
• Conduct fundamental equity analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis, with a clear commercial lens, leveraging skills in accounting, finance, and economics
• Translate market, client, and industry intelligence into actionable investment insights
• Partner closely with institutional sales to support client engagement
• Contribute to thought leadership, sector notes, and client discussions, demonstrating insight rather than just data
• Leverage AI and GenAI tools to enhance research efficiency, pattern recognition, idea generation, client personalization, and content creation
• Respond to requests for data, information, and calls from internal and external clients
• Develop and maintain relationships with investor relations personnel and management of companies under coverage
• Launch coverage on a company or business, which entails publishing a report, initiating a sales call, and marketing investment opinions
• Keep abreast of industry-related news flow and interpret data and analysis on market, economic, and political events

• Degree holder in finance-related or relevant industrial subjects
• 6-10 years of relevant working experience in equity or financial research
• Experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management, or related roles is preferred. Sector specialization is a plus
• Naturally curious with a strong desire to learn, enjoys asking good questions, challenging assumptions, exploring second-order effects, and commercially minded
• Strong listening skills, ability to synthesize diverse viewpoints, comfortable engaging senior institutional investors and corporate executives, builds trust quickly, communicates with clarity and confidence, and able to translate complex analysis into clear, relevant narratives
• Solid grounding in financial statement analysis, valuation methodologies, equity markets, capital markets dynamics, equity research, and industry research
• Demonstrated interest in using AI/GenAI tools for research, analysis, and productivity, open to experimenting with new tools, and tech-curious and adaptable
• Good command of English and Chinese (Mandarin)
• CFA and CPA are an added advantage.
