Job Description
Our mission is to ensure the club members find themselves on an exceptional lifestyle enjoyment journey through their favorite sport activities combined with endless hand crafted food and beverage offerings and personalized service excellence. Our commitment to everything we do inspires us to guarantee a home of the ultimate hospitality extended to members and their guests through our bespoke service culture and curated programming.
The Server's Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining the visual standards, cleanliness, and seamless rhythm of the dining room. Working closely with the service team, you will ensure that tables are flawlessly set, cleared, and sanitized to deliver an uncompromised luxury experience.
Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed. This includes competitive compensation plus tips.
Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience, camaraderie, and dining room management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Provide prompt, efficient, and proactive support to the service team
- Clear used tableware, glassware, and utensils from tables efficiently and discreetly between courses and after guest departures
- Sanitize, wipe down, and meticulously reset tables according to Shell Bay standards and standard operating procedures
- Ensure service stations and comfort stations are fully stocked with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and ice
- Assist in delivering water, bread, or opening amenities to members and guests upon arrival
- Keep the dining room floor, workstations, and pathways clean, organized, and free of debris throughout the shift
- Safely transport heavy trays or tubs of soiled dishes to the stewarding area
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and environmental control policies
- Respond politely to guest requests and communicate any concerns immediately to a server or manager
- Perform clean-up, trash removal, and closing procedures as assigned by manager
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager
Education and Experience Requirements
- 1 year of experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred
- Minimum education: High School (or equivalent) Diploma
- A basic understanding of fine and casual dining room flow
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated team player with a collaborative mindset
Working Conditions
- Physical activity including long periods (6-8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
- The employee will be required regularly to reach with arms and hands
- The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs safely
- Use of sight, reading, and coordinated physical movement to maintain dining areas and service equipment
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Noise level is moderately quiet
- Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
- During the season, must be able to work weekends, holidays and/or evenings if required
