- Landscape Architect
Description
Duties of the Landscape Architect include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to Landscape Architecture team with design and development of various assigned landscape projects, organizing and scheduling maintenance which include hospitality and land development.
- Assist in research of materials and contractors to ensure cost effectiveness, time and quality.
- Create schematic design development packages based on Landscape Architect direction.
- Prepare drawings from schematic phase to construction phase.
- Review of all submittals prior to presenting to city, design team, client, etc.
- Coordinate and manage all vendors to ensure materials received on a timely manner and ensure completion of all projects.
- Attend meetings with design team and subcontractors.
- Liaison between contractors, subcontractors and design professionals.
- Assist in selection and research of plants, construction material and finish material.
- Monitor work site to ensure compliant with state regulations and safety code.
- Manage the quality and esthetics of construction site/garden.
- Assist Landscape Architect with management of all related projects to ensure meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Create and maintain site photo log booklet with all projects.
- Manage office standards relating to computer filing/hardcopy filing of all drawing submittal packages.
Requirements
Ability to manage projects technically, financially and on schedule.
Ability to track schedules and establish priorities while handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration.
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Sketchup and Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation.
Ability to read and implement simple blue prints and landscape schematics.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrate good personal control and judgment under normal and stressful conditions.
Able to understand the needs of others and to offer viable cost -effective solutions to diverse problems.
Must possess valid Driver’s License and maintain a satisfactory CA DMV record and be in possession of automobile insurance policy.
Ability to be on call and available when necessary.
Travel is required, and the candidate does not need to be local to Malibu or California. However, they must be available to travel to and from the area and to other properties across the U.S.
