About the role
GPA is currently seeking an Investment Advisory Associate to join our Client Advisory Team and support our continued growth. This client-facing role is designed for people eager to build a career in institutional investment advisory services, with meaningful opportunities to learn, take on responsibility, and grow. Associates support Institutional Investment Advisors across client relationship development, strategy documentation, policy and contract workflows, client deliverables, onboarding, and business development support. Associates help translate Advisor direction into accurate, timely, and client-ready work product by participating in client meetings, coordinating information, preparing materials, tracking follow-ups, maintaining records, and helping ensure the client experience is organized, responsive, and consistent with GPA standards. This role provides hands-on experience with institutional clients, real-world portfolio strategy, and the professional foundation to grow into a long-term advisory career.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Support Advisors in delivering responsive client service by coordinating routine requests, meeting materials, stakeholder records, follow-up items, and upcoming deadlines or service requirements.
- Maintain portfolio strategy support materials, including approved targets, benchmarks, cash flow assumptions, project schedules, GPS workpapers, and items requiring Advisor review.
- Prepare for and participate in client, strategy, policy, and operations meetings by organizing information, documenting notes and action items, and coordinating post-meeting follow-up.
- Support Investment Policy Statement reviews, contract renewals, fee changes, procurement tracking, and related documentation needed for Advisor review and client discussion.
- Coordinate recurring and custom client deliverables, including reports, presentations, summary memos, exhibits, and quality-control reviews prior to Advisor approval.
- Support new client onboarding and account management by coordinating meetings, document requests, custodian requirements, portal access, internal workflows, and cross-team follow-up.
- Assist business development efforts through prospect tracking, conference preparation and participation, market and attendee research, outreach support, and RFP coordination.
- Maintain CRM activity, client files, templates, procedures, and support materials; identify documentation gaps, process issues, cross-team dependencies, or escalation needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 - 7+ years experience in investment management, banking and custody, public finance, client service, or a related field
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program participation or progress, Certified Treasury Professional, Series 65, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of establishing and meeting goals.
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude with the ability to identify issues, take initiative, improve processes, and deliver results for clients.
- Excels in a team environment. Self-motivated, driven, and flexible to manage shifting priorities, with the ability to think and act strategically.
- Demonstrates unwavering integrity and instills confidence in others.
- Strong writing skills and working knowledge of CRM systems, MS Office applications and other related technologies.
