Position Summary
Mid-States Companies is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead and manage all aspects of human resources operations across the organization. This hands-on HR Generalist role is responsible for supporting company growth through effective talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and organizational development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
-Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
-Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
-Maintain job descriptions and ensure accurate position documentation.
-Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
Employee Relations & Engagement
-Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
-Investigate and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
-Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement, retention, and professional growth.
-Support leadership in conflict resolution and performance improvement initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
-Administer employee benefits programs and act as the primary liaison with benefit providers.
-Support annual compensation reviews and salary administration processes.
-Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and related inquiries.
Compliance & Risk Management
-Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
-Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
HR Operations
-Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
-Oversee HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes.
Requirements
Education & Experience
-Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist or management role.
-Experience managing multiple HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and compliance.
-Manufacturing, construction, distribution, transportation, or multi-location experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
-Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Certifications
-SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
