Description
OverviewThe Seasonal Golf Shop Attendant is a visible, service-focused member of the TwinEagles Golf TEAM who supports Golf Shop operations during the Club's peak season, from October through May. The position provides friendly and personalized service to Members and guests while assisting with tee times, point-of-sale transactions, merchandising, tournament preparation, communications, and the accurate completion of daily operating procedures.
This role works closely with the Head Golf Professional, Golf Professionals, Director of Retail, and the entire Golf Operations TEAM. Success requires reliability, attention to detail, a polished professional presence, and a willingness to assist wherever needed in a fast-paced 36-hole private-club operation.
Experience Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in golf, retail sales, private-club service, or a hospitality-focused environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the game of golf and golf-industry terminology is preferred.
- Experience with Golf Genius, ForeTees, Jonas, Microsoft Office, point-of-sale systems, or comparable technology is preferred, along with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Professional appearance, dependable attendance, punctuality, and a friendly, proactive, sales-minded approach to service.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a TEAM environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a golf cart.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome Members and guests, anticipate their needs, and provide timely assistance in person, by telephone, and through email while maintaining professional telephone etiquette.
- Perform assigned Golf Shop opening and closing procedures and ensure the operation is prepared for daily play.
- Assist with tee time reservations, lesson scheduling, daily tee-sheet reconciliation, guest information, course availability, and Member use of the Club's online golf systems.
- Coordinate with the Starter and Player Assistant TEAM to maintain accurate tee-sheet information, Member and guest fee accounting, and end-of-day player counts.
- Process Golf Shop purchases, golf fees, credits, returns, and exchanges, issue receipts when applicable, and reconcile assigned point-of-sale activity in accordance with Club procedures.
- Assist Members with handicap questions and direct matters requiring additional support to a Golf Professional.
- Remain informed about Club tournaments, leagues, outings, fitting days, clinics, operating hours, and other golf activities.
- Support tournament and event preparation, including registration materials, scorecards, cart signs, pairings, scoring support, results, and breakdown as assigned.
- Use Golf Genius, ForeTees, Jonas, Microsoft Office, and other Club systems to complete assigned responsibilities accurately and efficiently.
- Support Golf Shop merchandising through sales assistance, product knowledge, receiving, unpacking, hanging, folding, steaming, pricing, restocking, merchandise presentation, and organization of storage areas.
- Assist the Director of Retail with cycle counts, monthly and year-end inventory reconciliation, identification of staple items requiring replenishment, and the accurate maintenance of inventory records within the point-of-sale system.
- Assist Members with apparel, footwear, accessories, golf equipment, and special orders while providing thoughtful product recommendations.
- Support sales promotions, product advertising, trunk shows, shoe fitting days, vendor demonstrations, club fitting days, clinics, and other Member programs as assigned.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional Golf Shop counters, displays, offices, and back-of-house areas.
- Communicate operational concerns promptly, participate in TEAM meetings and training, and assist other areas of Golf Operations as needed.
