Description
SCOPE OF WORK
Performs administrative and supervisory work assisting with the coordination of daily operations including restaurant and golf course maintenance of the facility; prepares work schedules and payroll for golf attendants. Monitors daily revenue generation; completes daily revenue deposits and paperwork. Processes purchase orders; opens/closes facility during the week/weekends. Coordinates special activities, marketing programs and leagues for the public.
GENERAL DUTIES
Responsible for the administration, budgeting, controls, marketing and public relations.
Responsible for implementing club policies and operating procedures of the club.
Serves as liaison between the customers, the employees, and the ownership of the club. He must cooperate with the governing bodies of the club whether it is the Board, committee, or owner. He advised and furthered the goals of the club as specified in its organizational structures.
Hires personnel for the various positions in the club or reviews and approves hiring selections of his department heads. He will also write directives, manuals and work schedules covering policies, rules and regulations or approve directives written by department heads.
Responsible for the financial condition of the club and development of and adherence to the operational budgets of the club.
Responsible for the quality levels and standards in customer service, product and social/recreational activities of the club.
As a manager, he must communicate with the personnel in each of the various departments on a regular ongoing basis and consult with all employees as to problems, policy, and changes in the operation. He suggests changes and may direct the implementation of change. Although he may delegate authority to department heads, he is ultimately responsible for all operations of the club.
Variable hours including evenings and weekends.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of the game of golf.
Considerable knowledge of sound business methods and practices
Knowledge of general golf course maintenance practices.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare subsequent reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and the general public.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or closely related field; minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience at a golf facility, as a golf professional, in the hospitality industry or at a revenue generating facility. Equivalencies: Related Associate's Degree OR unrelated Bachelor's Degree AND five (5) years of related supervisory experience. PGA of America Class A Professional in good standing, or working towards class A certification.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE:
Managing/troubleshooting automated accounting or Point of Sale (POS) systems; reconciling daily deposits and completing revenue reports; coordinating public tournaments, events and activities; working at a high-volume public golf course (must specify on application). Also desirable: Knowledge of general golf course maintenance practices (must specify on application).
