Overview

Full-time General Manager opportunity at Sparrows Point Country Club in Dundalk, Maryland. The role is suited for a driven individual eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced, hospitality-focused property organization.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Regularly stands, walks, and sits.
• Occasionally may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, taste, or smell.
• Regularly uses hands to finger, feel, or handle; reaches with arms and hands; talks or hears.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses, and generate business volume forecasts.
• Monitor financial reports and statements and take corrective action when necessary.
• Establish and monitor personnel policies, training, and professional development programs.
• Ensure all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff.
• Develop, maintain, and administer a sound organizational plan and initiate improvements as necessary.
• Maintain membership with PGA, CMAA, and other professional associations, and attend workshops and meetings.
• Oversee the care and maintenance of the facility's physical assets.
• Coordinate marketing programs to promote the facility's services.
• Ensure the highest standards for food and beverage service on the property.
• Implement policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with company standards.
• Interview, hire, train, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward, and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Directly manage department members such as Head Professional(s), Golf Course Superintendent(s), Tournament Coordinator, and Director of Instruction.
• Assure effective orientation and training for each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
