Overview
We are seeking a Finance Manager to support a large-scale manufacturing operation in East Texas. This role will serve as the primary finance partner to plant leadership, providing financial insight, operational analysis, and disciplined cost management to support safety, productivity, and profitability goals. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to influence operational outcomes through data and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Partnering
- Act as the lead finance partner to plant and operations leadership, providing timely insights on performance, trends, and risks
- Translate financial results into clear operational actions to drive cost efficiency, margin improvement, and productivity
- Support plant leadership with data-driven decision-making across labor, materials, overhead, and capital investments
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the plant's monthly close, forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes
- Own variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, with clear root-cause explanations and action plans
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to track operational and financial performance
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost controls
- Partner with operations and supply chain to improve yield, reduce waste, and optimize production costs
- Monitor inventory levels, usage, and obsolescence; ensure strong controls and accurate reporting
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant finance personnel (as applicable)
- Foster a collaborative, accountability-driven culture between finance and operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing or plant-level finance
- Strong background in cost accounting, FP&A, inventory management, and variance analysis
- Experience partnering directly with operations leaders in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel; exposure to BI tools a plus
- Ability to operate on site, engage on the plant floor, and influence outcomes beyond the numbers
