We are seeking a highly motivated estate planning and elder law attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded legal professional with strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing client relationships with care and professionalism. This position will be responsible for managing client relationships and handling all aspects of estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents; as well as advising on the administration of estates and trusts, elder law, probate litigation, tax planning, real estate, and business planning. This role requires both legal acumen and a client-centered approach, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
Meet with clients to assess their estate planning needs and objectives.
Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
Advise clients on estate, gift, and income tax considerations as they relate to estate planning.
Provide support and guidance on trust administration and probate matters.
Advise clients through probate litigation matters.
Advise clients on elder law matters.
Maintain thorough and organized client records and documentation.
Stay current with relevant laws and best practices in estate planning.
Contribute to firm growth through excellent service and potential client development activities.
Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
Prepare and file documents with courts and other relevant agencies.

Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Michigan.
Desired minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a preference for experience in the area of estate planning, estate administration, real estate, business, or probate litigation.
Strong drafting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of empathy and professionalism.
Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
Comfortable with technology and legal practice management systems.
