Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking cardiologists with dedicated expertise in echocardiography to join our faculty. Our echocardiography laboratory comprises a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative group that serves a diverse patient population in New York City. This position is a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing cardiology division that integrates world-class clinical care, cutting edge imaging research, and academic excellence.
The ideal candidate will be a cardiologist who has completed dedicated training in echocardiography (preferably level III), and has a well-demonstrated track record of clinical and academic achievement. Individuals with focus on structural echocardiography are of particular interest, although positions will be tailored based on candidate focus and training. Candidates with multimodality and/or vascular imaging focus are welcomed to apply for faculty positions as well. Candidates must hold board certification or be board eligible in cardiovascular disease.
Key program strengths include:
- High volume clinical program with access to state-of-the-art echocardiography scanner equipment and post-processing technology
- Major quaternary referral center for high complexity cardiovascular care - inclusive of valvular/structural heart disease, advanced heart failure, and adult congenital heart disease - for patients across New York City and beyond
- Multiple active echo-focused research protocols, including industry sponsored clinical trials (in both structural and other areas) and over a three-decade long track record of NIH funded research (inclusive of multiple active NIH R01s that incorporate echocardiography based technical development, epidemiologic and/or clinical outcomes studies)
- Well-established track record of career development and mentorship of early career faculty, including individuals with clinical and academic focus (including active and prior K23 and foundation funded echo faculty)
- Ample institutional expertise in ultrasound-based technology development, inclusive of collaborating research labs focused on artificial intelligence (AI) based methods for ultrasound-based data acquisition and analysis
- Extensive collaboration across cardiovascular imaging disciplines, inclusive of multimodality reading and research opportunities with leading institutional programs in CMR, CTA, nuclear cardiology, and vascular ultrasound
- Deep-seated commitment to echo-based training and education that spans our division's general cardiology fellowship, advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship, and NIH funded T32 training program
The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), and will be primarily based at Weill Cornell Medicine, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Weill Cornell Medicine provides a salary range for this position in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $220 - $600K; the salary listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation, bonuses, and/or benefits. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs.
