We are seeking a Director of Student Services and Special Education who looks beyond the blueprints to focus on the unique needs of every child. We are looking for a partner and a leader who brings a soft touch to complex challenges, ensuring that integrity and equity are felt by every family we serve.
The Director of Student Services and Special Education will work closely with a collaborative and supportive District administrative team and Board of Education to advance equitable outcomes and inclusive practices for ALL students, in alignment with the District’s Strategic Plan.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for PK–12 student services and special education services
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations
- Support high-quality, compliant IEP and 504 development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with principals, educators, related service providers, and families to promote inclusive practices that ensure high quality services and educational experiences
- Use data to guide continuous improvement aligned to District goals and student achievement priorities
- Oversee staffing, budgeting, and program effectiveness
- Partner with district leadership during transitions to new facilities to ensure accessibility and inclusive design
- Utilize Infinite Campus for student information and Skyward for fiscal and budget processes

Requirements
Qualifications
- Wisconsin DPI licensure in Special Education Administration (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience in special education leadership
- Demonstrated experience in student services leadership
- Strong background in effective and compliant IEP/504 writing
- Knowledge of MTSS, inclusive practices, and continuous improvement systems
- Experience with Infinite Campus and Skyward preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
