POSITION OVERVIEW
Start Date: August 2027 Reports to: Chief Advancement and External Relations Officer The Admissions Department is a data-informed, high-performing team at the heart of UNIS Hanoi. Positioned at the welcoming “front door” of the school, the Director of Admissions leads the entire family journey from discovery and inquiry, through recruitment, re-enrolment and retention, to eventual departure, rather than intake alone. The Director is the school’s ambassador-at-large: a champion for UNIS Hanoi’s educational philosophy, able to speak with knowledge and enthusiasm about what makes the school’s learning experience distinctive, to a diverse and global audience of prospective families, multinational corporations, and international embassies. As pipeline architect of the school’s tuition revenue, the Director combines proactive and strategic funnel design with hands-on operational execution: driving recruitment, enrolment growth, re-enrolment, family satisfaction, database integrity, event logistics, and exceptional prospective family engagement. A member of the advancement leadership team, inspire and mentor a committed and focused team while thriving in a high-paced environment that demands public confidence, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes across the full family lifecycle, from first inquiry to graceful departure.
CORE DOMAINS OF RESPONSIBILITIES PUBLIC AMBASSADORSHIP & DIVERSE STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Act as a public face for UNIS Hanoi, articulating the advantages of the school’s educational experience with confidence.
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with feeder schools, embassies, international corporations, relocation agencies, and local networks to develop long-term referral pipelines.
- Mobilise and develop Ambassador Networks to support digital and on-campus recruitment, as well as tours, and retention.
- Maintain a warm, visible presence across school life, engaging faculty, staff, volunteers, and parents to champion admissions.
STRATEGIC INTAKE & CONVERSION ARCHITECTURE
- Design, and build a compelling prospective family engagement programme that generates pipeline momentum at every stage of the family decision-making journey.
- Align intake and recruitment strategies with the school’s long-term capacity plans and demographic balance metrics.
- Deliver a responsive and personalised experience from first contact through to enrolment and orientation, including warm and transparent wait pool management.
- Evaluate applications and collaborate with Principals to reach consistent, well-informed admissions decisions.
- Embed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles across all admissions pathways. Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications on lead-generation, marketing activities, and brand alignment.
- Take ownership over achieving both new enrolment and re-enrolment retention targets, protecting tuition revenue with commercial and strategic acumen. 88 UNIS Hanoi
PIPELINE OPERATIONS & EVENTS
- Direct the delivery of all admissions events, from Open Houses to welcome orientations.
- Own a structured pre-application engagement process that ensures every family receives unfailing customer service.
- Coordinate the orientation and onboarding experience for new families, ensuring a seamless transition into the school community.
- Oversee school tours, campus visits, and applicant interviews, upholding full adherence to UNIS Hanoi Safeguarding and Child Protection standards.
RETENTION & RE-ENROLMENT
- Lead a structured re-enrolment programme grounded in real conversations with our families.
- Shepherd departing families through a considered exit process, including exit interviews, with a handoff to Alumni Relations.
COMMUNICATION QUALITY CONTROL & SYSTEMS INTEGRITY
- Improve data- and communications-logging routines within school platforms (e.g. Google Workspace and Veracross) to guarantee accuracy, visibility and consistency.
- Maintain a consistent data-sharing cadence with Marketing & Communications, tracking inquiry-to-enrolment conversion.
- Make routine improvements to all digital and print admissions assets, acting as the final quality assurance editor and proofreader.
LEADERSHIP & PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
- Lead and develop a high-performing admissions team, through customer service, clear accountability, and operational excellence.
- Oversee and administer the admissions operational budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and ROI.
- Generate regular, data reports, capacity forecasts, and pipeline analyses for the Chief Advancement and External Relations Officer, Strategic Leadership Team, Head of School, and Board of Directors.

THE OPPORTUNITY
- Lead the comprehensive enrolment strategy, managing the full family journey from initial inquiry into long-term community engagement.
- Serve as the school’s primary public face and ambassador, cultivating strategic relationships with embassies, corporations, and international networks to sustain our pipeline.
- Design and execute high-touch engagement events and programmes that showcase our mission, values, and distinct learning culture.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in educational leadership, business administration, public relations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively senior management experience in admissions, enrolment operations, or customer experience management, ideally in peer international schools. Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing teams. Exceptional public speaking and communication skills in complex, multicultural settings.
- Deep understanding of digital platforms and student management databases (specifically Veracross, CRM tracking software, and Google Workspace suites).
- Knowledge of data privacy and protection requirements in handling information.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Vietnamese, or a key community language (e.g., Korean, Japanese), is an advantage. 10 10 UNIS Hanoi

The contractual start date for this position is 1 August, 2027; however, the successful candidate will be expected to be on-site 1-2 weeks prior for new faculty orientation and settling in.
