Description
Development and Communications Director
Washington Women In Need (WWIN)
Help more Washington women turn their college and career goals into reality.
WWIN provides scholarships and support to help women facing barriers to opportunity succeed in college and careers so they, their families, and our communities can thrive. We’re seeking a strategic, collaborative fundraising leader to expand support for this work and help shape WWIN’s next chapter.
This is an opportunity to join WWIN’s leadership team, build meaningful donor relationships, and bring the stories of WWIN Scholars to a wider audience. You’ll work alongside colleagues who care deeply about the women we serve, an Executive Director who partners in fundraising, and an energized, engaged Board. You’ll also have support from a Development and Communications Associate, an external grant-writing team, communications contractors, and an event production team.
What you’ll do:
Lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy that grows major gifts, annual giving, grants, sponsorships and community partnerships.
Build and steward donor relationships, personally lead solicitations and help supporters connect their philanthropy to meaningful impact.
Guide communications and storytelling that celebrate Scholars’ achievements, inspire giving and strengthen WWIN’s statewide visibility.
Lead fundraising and engagement strategy for Elevate, WWIN’s signature event, and create opportunities for donors to connect with the mission.
Mentor the Development and Communications Associate, guide external partners and collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to advance WWIN’s goals.
Requirements
What you’ll bring:
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, communications or related fields.
Demonstrated success securing and stewarding major gifts, managing donor relationships and personally leading solicitations.
Strong storytelling, communication, strategic planning and organizational skills.
Experience leading staff or external partners and coordinating fundraising, communications and donor engagement.
A commitment to educational opportunity for Washington women and the ability to attend meetings and events in Seattle, with occasional travel elsewhere in Washington.
