In our Currencies Emerging Market Operations group, you will oversee complex products, drive automation, and partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver operational excellence. This is an opportunity to bring your deep expertise in banking operations to a role with real visibility and impact, while growing your leadership skills in a collaborative, high-performing environment.As a Vice President in Currencies Emerging Market Operations, you will oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle for a diverse range of products, including foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets. Reporting directly to the Indian Branch Head of Market Operations, you will drive operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across the business. You will lead and develop a high-performing team while collaborating with clients, business partners, and support functions to deliver seamless operations. This role puts you at the center of business growth and gives you the platform to champion process improvement and innovation in a fast-evolving market.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the full trade lifecycle for foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry guidelines, including requirements from The Clearing Corporation of India Limited and The Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India.
- Manage settlement, confirmation, and reconciliation processes, including nostro and wash accounts.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, goods and services tax computation, and monitoring of prudential and regulatory limits.
- Manage corporate client regulatory documentation and stay current on changes that may affect reporting obligations.
- Partner with external clients and internal teams across business, finance, compliance, legal, and audit functions to ensure aligned and efficient operations.
- Drive automation and process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support business expansion efforts and adapt operations to meet evolving regulatory and market requirements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in banking operations or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of the end-to-end trade lifecycle for foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets.
- Experience with The Clearing Corporation of India Limited reporting, settlement, confirmation, and reconciliation processes.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory and industry guidelines, including those from The Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India.
- Experience with goods and services tax computation and regulatory documentation.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with external clients and internal partners across multiple functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.
- Automation mindset with a drive to improve processes and strengthen controls.
- Strong people management and team leadership skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Chartered Accountant qualification and/or Master of Business Administration degree.
- Experience leading large-scale process improvement or automation projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering results.
- Experience working in a dynamic, growth-focused environment with evolving regulatory and market conditions.
- Demonstrated success in influencing stakeholders and driving outcomes across teams.
