We have an immediate need for an Business Development Specialist to join our Denver or Las Vegas office. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting attorneys in our Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups by expanding legal services and growing revenue from existing and new clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the senior business development director, key attorneys and practice groups to implement strategic marketing and business development activities
- Collaborate with the proposal specialist on the creation of content for RFPs, pitches, proposals and brochures
- Collaborate with the research analyst to produce reports of market and industry trends, as well as evaluate and analyze competitive intelligence to identify new business opportunities and expand on existing relationships
- Work proactively with the senior director of business development on the implementation and tracking of individual attorney business development plans
- Promote cross-office and practice group communication and collaboration
- Work closely with the communications team and events specialist to fully engage targets and key clients in strategic events and communications as well as help identify relevant topics for prospects.
- Assist with the implementation, tracking and measurement of business development actions and successes using representative matters database and CRM
- Help direct participation with strategic sponsorships, conferences and memberships supporting key initiatives and target audiences
- Drive and manage special projects as assigned
- Manage the Business Development budget for assigned groups
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum five years’ experience in marketing, business development and/or sales in professional services firm or closely related work environment.
- Past business development coaching or internal consulting experience preferred along with a sophisticated understanding of highly targeted cross-selling.
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business is required.
- Experience using CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics a plus) and marketing mailing systems
- Ability to effectively and efficiently perform all types of electronic and traditional research.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
- With strong attention to detail and accuracy, prepare clear and concise work product.
- Ability to coordinate work flow, organize and prioritize numerous tasks that are completed under time constraints and conditions of stress while remaining flexible when confronted with multiple, simultaneous demands.
- Ability to understand and utilize computer equipment and software in order to process documents, maintain files and process documents, and learn integrated software programs used firm wide.
- Ability to establish and maintain close working relations with clients, vendors, attorneys and staff.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow-up on own initiative. Ability to accomplish responsibilities with minimum supervision and in a timely manner while communicating consistently and appropriately with the controller and the office manager/administrator regarding projects being handled, problems incurred and recommended solutions.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot general office equipment such as computers, transcription devices, telephones, fax machines, video conferencing, scanners, and copiers, as well as adding paper and changing cartridges when required.
- Ability to keep accurate records of work performed.
- Ability to work in a high rise building, and ability to travel in elevators through multiple floors.
- If necessary, ability to travel to other locations, including travel by air, for instantaneous service to other offices should the need arise.
- Integrates fully with the firm's operations through regular attendance during the firm's regular business hours with some flexibility for off-hour and weekend hours as required for efficient firm operations.
Compensation and Benefits: Brownstein offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off, in addition this role pays overtime for hours worked above 40 per week. We are offering salary for this role, ranging from $68,000-$90,000. Compensation is determined by geographic location and other applicable factors.
