JOB TITLE: Business Development & Marketing Senior Coordinator
DIRECT REPORT TO: Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager
SUMMARY:
The Business Development & Marketing Senior Coordinator supports the business development and marketing efforts of the firm. The role works directly with the Sr. Business Development & Marketing Manager and other members of the Marketing department to support business development and marketing initiatives towards driving firm business growth and reputation in the market. The Senior Coordinator will support new business opportunities, help maintain and strengthen client relationships, and aid firm profile raising activities. The Senior Coordinator will effectively interface with firm attorneys, business development and marketing colleagues and other business services professionals at all levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare research on existing, new and prospective clients and synthesize market data into comprehensive, easily digestible reports and help identify potential new business opportunities.
- Conduct competitive intelligence on market and industry trends utilizing research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and Capital IQ) in support of client meeting prep, pitches/RFPs and other business development initiatives.
- Track docket alerts and major company news for key clients and select prospective clients; provide relevant summaries to attorneys.
- Intake requests for business development support and work with senior manager to help evaluate opportunities, identify existing firm connections, propose team members to include, and facilitate coordination with other departments as necessary (e.g., finance, IT, etc.).
- Help develop business development and promotional materials including the drafting and preparing of written proposals, pitches, RFP responses, and other tailored communications.
- Track and maintain records of BD-related activities, update practice and client-matter descriptions, and update the firm’s CRM system with key contacts learned from BD pursuits.
- Assist with legal directory submissions such as Chambers USA and Legal 500.
- Support additional projects, as assigned by the Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager and others.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least two-three years of relevant law firm marketing/business development experience.
- Credible understanding of business and legal landscape
- Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to process information from a wide variety of sources
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in English language punctuation, spelling, and grammar and strong proofreading and editing skills
- Customer service orientation, responsiveness and follow-through
- High level of professionalism and confidence necessary to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients
- Strong project management and prioritization abilities; good judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Outstanding attention to detail and creative thinker
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish alignment between the expectations and strategies of different attorneys, and to effectively build relationships
- Intellectual curiosity; desire to learn
- Motivation and energy, the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work with little supervision and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Flexibility to work beyond standard work hours as needed
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week in the office. The Firm reserves the right to require additional in office days, up to and including fulltime in office presence, as business needs require.
The starting base salary range is $80,000-$98,000 plus competitive benefits and bonus eligibility. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
