Associate Attorney – Estate Planning & Estate Administration
Location: Central Ohio (On Site)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join a growing, client-centered estate planning and probate practice. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients to design thoughtful estate plans, guide families through probate and trust administration, and build long-term professional relationships grounded in trust and clarity.

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Advising
- Conduct consultations with individuals and couples to understand their goals, concerns, and family dynamics
- Provide clear, practical guidance on estate planning strategies in plain English
- Counsel clients through difficult or emotional decisions with empathy and professionalism
Estate Planning
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Analyze asset ownership and beneficiary designations to ensure alignment with client goals
- Develop customized planning recommendations for each client
Estate & Trust Administration
- Assist clients through probate and trust administration processes from start to finish
- Prepare court filings, inventories, accountings, and related documentation
- Communicate regularly with clients to keep matters moving efficiently and transparently
Collaboration & Quality Control
- Participate in internal drafting reviews to maintain consistency and quality standards
- Work closely with legal assistants and support staff to ensure a smooth client experience
- Contribute to the continued improvement of firm processes, workflows, and templates
Qualifications
Licensed and in good standing in Ohio
Preferred: 2+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, or closely related practice area
Strong legal writing and drafting skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Professional, warm, and client-focused approach
Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Salary ($80,000 to $95,000) commiserate with experience

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active Ohio law license in good standing (or ability to obtain licensure promptly)
2–5 years of relevant experience in estate planning, probate, and/or trust administration
Strong drafting, communication, and client-service skills
Preferred
Comfort managing matters with appropriate supervision and escalating issues as needed
Familiarity with Clio, Lawmatics and/or WealthCounsel
