Job Description
The Valuation Manager supports the Conducting Officer in overseeing valuation activities across alternative investment funds, ensuring compliance with AIFMD, CSSF requirements, and internal policies. The role focuses on valuation governance, methodology review, stakeholder management, and reporting, while maintaining independent and consistent valuations across various alternative asset classes. It also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing valuation function within a leading Luxembourg AIFM.
What You'll Do:
- You'll support the Conducting Officer in executing and continuously enhancing the AIFM valuation framework across a diverse range of alternative investment funds.
- You'll manage and coordinate valuation activities for private equity, venture capital, private debt, infrastructure, real estate, and fund of funds portfolios.
- You'll review, challenge, and validate valuation methodologies, models, assumptions, and reports prepared by investment managers and external valuation providers.
- You'll prepare valuation reports, present recommendations to the Valuation Committee, and defend valuation conclusions before senior management.
- You'll ensure strong valuation governance by coordinating committees, maintaining documentation, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements.
- You'll collaborate with clients, auditors, regulators, depositaries, investment managers, and other stakeholders while supporting fund onboarding and external provider oversight.
- You'll maintain and enhance valuation policies, controls, and procedures, monitor regulatory developments, support training initiatives, and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications
- You hold a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field, supported by 5 to 8 years of relevant valuation experience.
- You have gained valuation experience within an AIFM/ManCo, Big Four valuation advisory practice, alternative asset manager, or specialist valuation provider.
- You possess strong expertise in the valuation of alternative assets, including Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Fund of Funds.
- You have a solid understanding of Luxembourg fund structures (RAIF, SIF, SICAR, SCSp, SICAV, etc.), as well as AIFMD, local regulatory requirements, and valuation governance expectations.
- You demonstrate advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, are fluent in English, and hold or are working towards a professional qualification such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, or ASA; additional European languages would be an advantage.
