The Department of Economics and Finance in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota invites applications for two (2) nine-month, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor starting fall semester, 2023.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Newly hired TT faculty in the Department of Economics and Finance teach a 2-2 course load for the first three years and may be renewed annually for an additional three years. Faculty are expected to publish in quality journals.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research program aligned with those of the Department's research-active faculty. Faculty research programs are supported with funding for data and participation at regional, national, and international conferences. In addition, we aim for limited class preparations through tenure. 
• The Department seeks candidates with an instructional emphasis in corporate finance, investments, and/or financial institutions. The faculty is expected to contribute in instruction, research, and service/outreach/extension and work closely with master’s students.

Required Competencies

• Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills are required. 

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates must possess a Ph.D./D.B.A. in Finance or a Ph.D. in Economics with an emphasis in financial economics from an accredited institution at the start of the contract.
• Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of research productivity and intellectual contributions to the field of finance commensurate with experience.
• Proficient writing as evident in application materials.
• Teaching experience and effectiveness

Contract Period/Start Date

Position contract will be August 16, 2023 to May 15, 2024, and may be renewed annually based upon successful evaluations and availability of funding.
