The Associate Director of Medical Education is a member of the Medical Affairs team with deep scientific knowledge and understanding of the external oncology ecosystem. This individual is responsible for two broad categories of work:
Creating Medical Education Content - Translating Foundation Medicine's evidence into dynamic content and tailoring it to audience segments
Designing Medical Education Strategies- Identifying, implementing and evaluating multi-modal approaches to medical education
The Associate Director will test and evaluate multi-modal approaches to medical education, including, but not limited to:
Foundation Medicine-driven medical education (live and virtual)
Collaboration with leading medical education partners on novel ways of delivering medical education to community and academic practitioners (live and virtual)
Audio learning
Interactive tools
This role reports to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and involves working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment. Travel up to 30 percent, primarily in the United States, is required.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include two key categories: 1) Creating Medical Education Content and 2) Designing Medical Education Strategies. Additionally, this individual will serve as a cross-functional partner and collaborator within the Medical Team and across enterprise.
Creating Medical Education Content
Develop, curate and edit scientific and clinical content with an emphasis on accuracy, structure, clarity, style, and appropriate presentation for a high-level clinical audience
Utilize visualization tools such as PowerPoint and multi-modal tools to communicate critical evidence, enabling externally facing Medical Personnel to increase education about Foundation Medicine's current and emerging portfolio
Serve as a medical reviewer and approver for content generated by internal teams for external use
Manage relationships with external partners
Oversee vendor relationships, including creating, adhering to and managing budgets
Lead multiple content generation efforts at once, while adhering to timelines and seeking internal alignment
Designing Medical Education Strategies
Identify, implement and evaluate multi-modal approaches to medical education
Design short-and mid-range plans to accelerate understanding of Foundation Medicine's differentiated portfolio and scientific evidence
Define two-year strategies and tactics to guide which medical education investments will result in the greatest impact
Create, pilot and evaluate Medical education strategies and tactics
Lead cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in biology, public health or related field or nursing degree with oncology nursing certificate
7+ years oncology experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in relevant field, oncology nursing degree or genetic counselor degree
Additional certifications in medical education or communication
In-depth knowledge of cancer genomics
Experience independently creating dynamic medical education content from scientific literature
Proven ability to conduct advanced literature-based research in support of content creation and scheduled updates
Knowledge of dynamics related to existing and emerging oncology medical education tactics and strategies
Deep understanding of how oncology ecosystem dynamics intersect with medical education of today and the next two to four years
Experience leading medical education efforts for an oncology biotech, pharmaceutical company or diagnostics company
Track record of creating, launching and evaluating novel medical education initiatives
Strong history of cross-functional collaboration
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to lead without authority among peer network
Ability to independently represent Foundation Medicine through work with external advisors and stakeholders related to medical education
Agreement to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company, employee, and proprietary data and information

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Remote is $154,300 $192,900 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine's compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
