Position Requirements
Qualifications Required in the Job:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree required, a focus in business, finance, accounting or law preferred
- Series 7 and 66 required within 6 months of hire
- Insurance license required within 6 months of hire
- CFP® or CFA designation in accordance with firm policy strongly preferred, or beginning the exam prep within 6 months of hire
Years of Relevant Experience:
- 5 years Financial Services Industry or EDJ experience strongly preferred
Functional Skills:
- Demonstrates personal initiative, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Understanding of Financial Advisor/ and Practice Team Support member(s) processes including the implementation of Core Wealth, Banking, and Financial Planning offerings.
- Understanding and alignment with the firm values, beliefs, policies, procedures as well as business objectives.
- Broad understanding of Edward Jones structure and support provided by the home office.
- Proficiency using financial planning software or tools and interpreting results
- Results driven
- Ability to adapt quickly
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to research issues and apply appropriate solutions
- Requires critical thinking skills and sound judgment
- Demonstrates ability to effectively prioritize and engage necessary stakeholders
Communication Skills:
- Ability to support a financial advisor in evaluating goals-based strategies for client needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- In-depth knowledge of the financial planning concepts and planning software
- Ability to engage, and resolve, highly complex/demanding branch and client situations

Problems faced by associates in this role tend to be routine, standardized, and consistent. Achieve results independently and occasionally through others.
Decision Making:
The decisions in this position are high in impact.
Span of Influence:
The span of influence in this position is low. The Financial Planning and Wealth Strategy Group partners with Financial Planning, Investment Advisory, Advice & Guidance, Banking, Field Consulting, and other Wealth Management areas such as Generations Consulting. Regularly interface with associates and leaders in Field Management, Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, Products, Product Review, Operations, and Service.
**Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
Salary Information
Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program.
