Position Summary
In support of the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) contract, this position supports the Department of Defense's navigation warfare mission, ensuring positioning, navigation, and timing superiority. The team provides combatant commanders and joint force commanders with subject matter expertise on planning and conducting NAVWAR by delivering knowledge of friendly and enemy NAVWAR Order of Battle and PNT-related successes and threats.
Description of Duties
Review content of technical engineering documentation for quality.
Produce technical engineering and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to requirements.
Ensure documents follow the style established in the applicable style guide.
Create documents for publication both within the organization and externally using input from team members, stakeholders, research sources, and other content providers.
Write technical articles, reports, brochures, and manuals for documentation and other uses.
Integrate graphics, text, and other media to create presentations and publications.
Coordinate production.
Proofread and edit correspondence, documents, memoranda, presentations, and other publication materials to ensure conformance with DoD spelling, grammar, and style standards.
Assist content providers in identifying the appropriate medium and format for presentations and publications.
Ensure content is high quality and conforms to standards.
Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. Conduct quality reviews of materials.
Produce, proofread, edit, and format technical documentation, including design specifications, manuals, online help, procedures, plans, and proposals.
Edit and format information for consumption through various media channels, including printed materials, scripted voice content, email, websites, and other electronic access points.
Gather information, interview subject matter experts, and conduct research to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an active SECRET Security Clearance
- 5 years of relevant experience
- BA/BS in English, communications, journalism, computer science, web design, engineering, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Prior editing experience with DoD or government agencies
- Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), Certified Technical Professional (CTP), or other equivalent certification
Compensation
