We create purposeful and sculptural spaces ranging from hospitality environments to private gardens. Working with some of the best architects and designers in the country, we are motivated by the idea of creating beautiful spaces with our clients. We are looking for an enthusiastic professionals who would be excited to join our team in the world class resort mountain town of Ketchum, Idaho.
About the FIRST Role: Senior Associate / Project Manager, Landscape Architecture
BYLA is seeking a creative, confident, and collaborative Landscape Architect with 5 -10 years of experience to join our team in a project management role. As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from concept through construction. Your day-to-day work will involve leading design and planning efforts, managing project budgets, and compiling precise construction documentation. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and build strong relationships with clients and collaborators.
Key responsibilities:
Drive conceptual design and planning. Manage project budgets and schedules. Develop comprehensive construction documents and specifications. Mentor and guide junior designers. Cultivate meaningful relationships with clients and partners. Support business development by participating in RFP/Q development, project interviews, and scope-of-work expansions.
Qualifications:
5–10 years of relevant professional experience. Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture. Professional licensure or on the path toward it. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is essential; experience with Rhino, GIS, and Bluebeam is a plus. Exceptional design skills and a keen aesthetic sensibility. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to travel to national project sites occasionally. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (we cannot sponsor H1B visas).

Remote Option: There is possibility of remote work for well qualified candidates that have experience running remote teams and projects. Remote work would be ideal if located in or near major metropolitan areas- Ie New York, LA, SF, SLC- Travel would be required to visit the Sun Valley/ Bozeman office on roughly a monthly basis.

About the SECOND Role: Designer
We’re looking for a designer who is organized, creative, and eager to learn the ins and outs of high end residential
design and the construction and creation of landscape spaces. The ideal candidate brings strong graphic and technical
skills, enjoys managing multiple projects, and thrives in a collaborative studio environment.
What You’ll Do:
Develop conceptual and schematic designs, including 2D and 3D visualizations.
Produce detailed planting, irrigation, and vegetation management plans.
Select materials and prepare construction details.
Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
Research building codes, planning requirements, and permit processes.
Prepare materials for permit submittals and public presentations.
What You’ll Bring:
Degree in Landscape Architecture (undergraduate or graduate).
2–4 years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
Strong design sense and ability to carry projects from concept to completion.
Experience creating concept designs and detailed planting plans.
Familiarity with Pacific Northwest plant species and local drought-tolerant, fire-safe, and water-efficient standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (experience with Rhino, GIS, or Bluebeam is a plus).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute to a creative team.
Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. (we are unable to sponsor H-1B visas).
