Description
A Generalist focused LMM Buyout Private Equity firm located in Tampa, FL is looking to add someone onto the team in Summer 2026 at the Associate level. The firm invest across a range of industries including Healthcare, Business Services, Indsutrials, & Consumer. The firm has mantained a lean strategy and steadily grown across the firm's extistence. They're now however looking to double the AUM as they raise their 5th fund. This would be a career track style role with an advanced path to VP as well as come with the chance to participate in most parts of the deal process early on in your time with the firm.If you're someone with 2+ years of investment banking experience (at the start of the role) covering M&A related transactions, wants to be in Private Equity, and has an interest in living full-time in Tampa, please apply!
Responsibilities
- Conducted in-depth financial modeling, valuation analysis (DCF, LBO, comparable companies, and precedent transactions), and scenario modeling to support investment decision-making.
- Performed comprehensive due diligence, including market research, competitive analysis, customer interviews, and operational assessments across target industries.
- Assisted in sourcing new investment opportunities by evaluating inbound deals, engaging with management teams, and developing investment theses.
- Led the creation of investment committee materials, synthesizing complex financial and qualitative data into clear, persuasive presentations.
- Collaborated with portfolio company management teams to drive strategic initiatives, monitor financial performance, and support operational improvements.
- Managed deal execution workflows, coordinating with legal, accounting, tax, and third-party advisors throughout transaction processes.
- Developed and maintained financial reporting dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance tracking for active portfolio companies.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, corporate finance, and advanced Excel analytics, with demonstrated ability to build and audit complex models.
- Deep understanding of private equity deal structures, capital markets, and M&A processes.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities, with ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience preparing materials for senior leadership and investment committees.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
- Experience working with management teams, advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; prior investment banking, consulting, or private equity experience strongly preferred.
