MMA provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions to organizations and individuals seeking limitless possibilities. With 200 offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world's leading professional services firm, Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC).
Applicants must be within driving distance to our Birmingham, AL or Opelika, AL office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.
A day in the life.
As an Private Client Service Sr. Client Manager , you will:
- Oversee and manage client accounts, ensuring accurate billing, processing policy changes, and addressing coverage questions promptly. Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their policies, providing exceptional service and support.
- Conduct thorough analysis of clients' insurance needs, offering tailored coverage recommendations that align with their risk profiles and business objectives. Complete and review insurance applications, prepare detailed submissions, and negotiate coverage terms and pricing with insurance carriers to secure optimal solutions for clients.
- Develop comprehensive insurance proposals, including coverage options, pricing, and terms. Engage in negotiations with carriers to obtain competitive rates and favorable policy conditions, ensuring clients receive the best possible coverage at the most advantageous terms.
- Coordinate and manage the renewal process for existing policies, including reviewing current coverage, preparing renewal proposals, and communicating with clients and carriers. Handle cancellation requests efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with policy checking to verify accuracy and completeness. Stay current on industry developments, including updates to rates, insurance forms, and coverage options, to provide accurate advice and ensure compliance with evolving standards.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic files and records for all client policies, correspondence, and documentation. Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and easy retrieval of information for audit and review purposes.
- Identify and resolve applicable accounting discrepancies related to billing, payments, or policy transactions. Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to correct errors and ensure accurate financial records.
- Manage and coordinate the marketing process for new and existing clients, including preparing marketing materials, soliciting quotes from multiple carriers, and facilitating communication between clients and insurance markets to secure competitive coverage options.
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Build and nurture effective relationships to foster trust, ensure client satisfaction, and facilitate smooth policy issuance and servicing.
- Provide administrative assistance as needed, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and supporting team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience
- Strong understanding of insurance products and service
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Previous experience in a financial advisory or wealth management firm preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members preferred.
