Position Summary:
The People & Culture Manager is responsible for general human resources management, payroll, benefits management, internship program, volunteer groups, guild, and general support of administrative operations. This position plays a key role in attracting and retaining high quality personnel while establishing a prosperous and rewarding culture. The position requires a proactive approach in order to revamp systems, implement new technology and processes, develop high performing teams, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Essential Functions:
Human Resources and Benefits Management
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulation affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Assists with recruitment and retention of staff; job postings, hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, team building activities, culture building, professional development, and best practices
- Evaluates all systems, software platforms, and policies. Provides recommendations to leadership for new opportunities and take lead role for implementing new initiatives
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics for government, internal, and external reporting
- Supports inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs while being the point of contact for employment matters
- Implements performance review process; Collaborates with management to establish annual goals and performance metrics
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and vision insurances, retirement plans, professional development, and time off
- Serves as point of contact for employee HR employment issues; Reviews and updates Employee Handbook on annual basis
- Facilitates HR communications to all staff with updates and initiatives for building a collaborative, high achieving and joyful workplace
- Assists on issues related to workers’ compensation and liability claims; Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
- Remains current with state labor laws and ensure compliance with all aspects of employment regulations
- Develops practices for enhancing staff culture through active collaboration, team building, and employee engagement
- Other duties as assigned
Internship Program, Volunteer Groups, and Audience Services
- Responsible for management of Bravo! Vail Internship Program including job postings, interviewing candidates, communicating prior to season, creating and guiding intern orientation, planning intern enrichment activities, and coordinating mid and post-season evaluations
- Responsible for management of volunteer groups including Guild, Community Relations Committee, and identifying/coordinating new volunteer opportunities
- Assist, coordinate, and potentially perform the Audience Services Manager role
- Communicate Bravo! Vail policies to Guild and offer support on how/when to administer
- Provide year-round support with designated Guild leader
- Support Guild merchandise sales team to ensure functional

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources experience preferred
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to establish rapport in person, via phone, and through written communications
- Proactive approach, dependable, supportive
- Discretion to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, particularly during the summer festival season
