About the opportunity…
As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, this position is responsible for performing all tasks related to accounts receivable and payable. Specifically:
responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll
review all payroll records to ensure accuracy and completeness
ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
perform auditing of payroll inputting reports and registers to ensure accuracy; resolve errors as needed
coordinate between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
process new employees in the system, including onboarding, termination, leave of absence
administer employee benefit programs
respond to queries from the staff
run schedules and journals, as directed
calculate and print required statements or receipts
post invoices and prepare cheques, as required
process and submit insurance and warranty remittances, and reconcile related schedules
reconcile accounts and schedules assigned by the Controller
assist in closing month- and year-end
other duties as requested
Requirements
About you…
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in accounting administration and processing, including:
1 to 3 years of proven payroll experience is a must-have
proficiency working with ADP Workforce Now (preferred), Payworks, or Dayforce
1 to 3 years of proven accounting experience
post-secondary education in accounting or finance
proficiency working with ERP systems (ie. CDK/Reynolds)
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
ability to maintain professionalism
ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
a desire to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
