Outstanding career opportunity for an experienced legal marketing professional.
WWHGD, a mid-size litigation boutique firm, seeks a broad-based, proactive, legal marketing generalist to lead the Marketing and Communications function. This position is ideal for an accomplished, performance- and results-driven individual ready for their next challenge. With a dual reporting relationship to the Executive Committee and Marketing Committee, the Marketing Director collaborates seamlessly with the firm’s Business Development, Graphic Design and PR professionals to execute all firm marketing initiatives and manage daily Marketing and Communications operations.
Responsibilities include:
Marketing Committee Liaison
Develop communications/Marketing Reports on behalf of the Marketing Committee for firm leadership.
Establish and chair the monthly Marketing Committee Agendas and Minutes, driving goal achievement through accountability and follow up.
Arrange all monthly Marketing Committee meeting logistics and notifications of same.
Calculate and report monthly Marketing Department metrics and results.
Firm Marketing Material/ Knowledge Management
Proactively seek and maintain current information about the firm for use in proposals, presentations and pitches to current and prospective clients, including current and timely information about the firm, its attorneys, its trials and successes (WINs) for use on website and in pitch materials.
Draft and update practice descriptions, lawyer bios, news, and publication items on the firm website in accordance with the firm’s standards.
Collaborate on process and system improvement and implement best practices.
Maintain Marketing Department processes, systems, and documents using nomenclature and standards for easy and efficient access.
Attorney Contact for
Attorney on-boarding, to include drafting and posting attorney bios, coordinating and posting headshots, and setting up access to legal platforms and publications.
CE/CLE application requests, submission creation, monitor approvals, attendee communication and leveraging.
PowerPoint presentations and other attorney deliverables. Pitch materials and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Litigation (Monitor Suite) Reports – run basic reports and cc: Business Development for follow up.
Promotional items, both existing and requests for new items.
Communications/Website/Social Media
Proactively maintain current website content. Make requested changes while maintaining consistency with firm standards using best practices to increase SEO.
Promote and leverage firm news on social media platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter, and via website using approved content.
Create and send marketing/email campaigns in Constant Contact. Develop and maintain all firm, practice group and individual mailing lists for accuracy.
Track and report on campaign analytics – making recommendations accordingly.
Monthly review for broken links, analytics – reporting out and measuring success and ROI.
Branding
Provide ideas and input on promotional items. Negotiate terms and select vendors. Collaborate with graphic designer (who signs off on all proofs). Maintain inventory, document usage and coordinate distribution for all special events and attorney use.
Work to ensure “brand” adherence across the firm, addressing as needed.
Technology
Oversee the platforms and tools that power the Marketing processes and systems, including Constant Contact, Firmseek.
Legal Rankings/Directories
Drive submission process for Best Lawyers, Chambers, Super Lawyers to increase attorney selection.
Prepare drafts of directory submissions and nominations for all legal market rankings, awards, and directories.
Leverage all award selections and firm accolades via website, social media.
Events
Plan, implement, oversee and support all aspects of firm hosted events, conference sponsorships, regional client entertainment, and receptions, including invitation creation, mailing list development and distribution, tracking, reporting and following up on RSVPs, vendor negotiation, menu selection, A/V and logistics coordination, CLE applications, and on-site management of event.
Public Relations
In conjunction with PR firm, draft and/or post press releases to website.
Use firm technology (Constant Contact) to disseminate communication pieces.
Requirements:
A minimum of eight (8) years of legal marketing experience.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in marketing, communication, business, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives with competing deadlines and priorities.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Demonstrated strong project management and executions skills (e.g., organizing, planning, problem-solving, follow-through, completion, exercising good judgment and decision-making.)
Ability and confidence to follow up for needed information and follow through to complete projects assigned.
Demonstrated computer experience: MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
