As an Associate Audit Lead in the Agency and Institutional Capital Servicing team, you lead end‑to‑end audit and certification activities that reinforce compliance and operational integrity. You serve as the primary contact for agency auditors and master servicers, coordinating responses, ensuring timely submissions, and elevating audit readiness. You apply current servicing guidelines and regulatory requirements, proactively addressing gaps and driving process improvements. You collaborate closely with servicing, asset management, compliance, legal, and technology partners, communicating results and actions to senior leaders. Your work helps strengthen controls, enhance client confidence, and support business growth.
You will join a high‑performing team focused on continuous improvement, automation, and clear, actionable reporting. You'll design sustainable certification processes, standardize documentation practices, and help operationalize regulatory changes. Your ability to translate complex requirements into practical workflows will empower teams and streamline audits. Job responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate responses to external auditors, agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), and master servicers, including data gathering, documentation review, and process walkthroughs.
- Serve as the primary servicing contact and overall audit lead.
- Ensure timely, accurate submission of audit materials, certifications, and supporting evidence.
- Maintain and apply current knowledge of agency and securitized servicing guidelines, policies, and regulations.
- Monitor servicing activities to ensure compliance with standards and internal controls; remediate gaps prior to audits.
- Oversee preparation, maintenance, and control of servicing documentation and audit trails.
- Develop and implement processes for ongoing certifications and audit readiness.
- Prepare management reports summarizing audit findings, remediation actions, and certification status.
- Recommend and implement process improvements; advise teams on audit and certification best practices.
- Collaborate with servicing, asset management, compliance, legal, and technology teams to align on audit activities; communicate results to senior leaders.
- Manage multiple audit projects, plans, timelines, and resources to meet deadlines.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of commercial real estate (CRE) agency servicing experience with direct involvement in audits and certifications.
- Expertise in preparing, organizing, and maintaining audit deliverables, evidence files, and audit trails.
- Ability to implement and oversee document control and servicing systems for compliant, efficient retrieval.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends and support audit objectives.
- Experience reviewing processes, identifying control gaps, and recommending improvements.
- In‑depth knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac servicing guidelines and audit protocols.
- Strong understanding of commercial mortgage servicing operations, investor requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated effectiveness liaising among auditors, stakeholders, and senior leaders; ability to present clear audit reports and executive summaries.
- Ability to resolve audit issues, address findings, and implement corrective actions within agreed timelines.
- Proficiency with servicing systems and Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CPA).
- Experience interpreting and applying complex regulatory changes in servicing environments.
- Success in high‑volume, fast‑paced operational settings.
- Ability to develop and interpret quantitative performance reports.
- Experience with large loan portfolio sales.
- Familiarity with strategy or workflow software.
- Experience with agency portals.
