- Interpret and apply collective agreements, employment legislation, and EPCOR policies to support defensible, consistent, and timely workforce decisions.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives, supporting interestbased discussions and constructive resolution of workplace issues.
- Coach leaders through sensitive people matters, mediate conflict, and identify emerging risks to support early and effective intervention.
- Contribute to business unit people strategies and enterprise HR initiatives, including organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, engagement, and inclusion.
- Guide leaders through the HAY job evaluation process, supporting accurate role design, internal equity, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Advocate for business unit needs by partnering with Total Rewards, Talent Management, Labour Relations, and other HR specialists to deliver integrated people solutions.
- Support organizational change initiatives, including restructures, mergers, acquisitions, and enterprisewide programs.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Postsecondary degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant exposure to unionized environments, labour relations, and employee relations.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant employment legislation (e.g., Human Rights, Employment Standards, Privacy, Psychological Safety, WCB).
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and advise leaders at multiple levels on complex and sensitive workforce matters.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience working with unions using an interest based approach to achieve fair, sustainable outcomes.
- High integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Strong analytical, systems-thinking, and prioritization skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
CPHR designation, facilitation experience, or coursework in mediation, investigations, coaching, or DEI are considered assets.
