Description
The hospitality position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and general maintenance of the Apex Center. This includes setting up and maintaining the facility for various activities and classes. The goal is to provide a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere for all facility users as directed by the facility manager.
The schedule for this job is as follows:
Sunday: 9am-5pm
Mon-Thur: 7am-3pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the cleanliness of the Apex Center, including vacuuming carpeted areas, cleaning floors, washing windows and walls, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and locker rooms, emptying trash, and dusting surfaces.
Keep equipment and furnishings clean.
Ensure custodial supplies are stocked, and custodial equipment is well-maintained.
Safely store chemical products.
Set up and take down tables and chairs as needed for classes and activities.
Perform snow removal, sweep/wash sidewalks, and pick up trash on the facility grounds.
Maintain current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all cleaning products.
Perform minor repairs as necessary.
Keep the building free from indoor pests.
Collaborate with suppliers to maintain a proper inventory of cleaning supplies.
Enforce all Apex Park and Recreation District policies and procedures.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work on special projects and serve on committees and focus groups as the executive director assigns.
Attend training sessions, workshops, staff meetings, and conferences as required.

Job Qualifications:
Proficient knowledge of cleaning procedures and maintenance.
Knowledge of operating machinery.
Strong customer service skills and a friendly, pleasant demeanor.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Team player with the flexibility to work varying hours to meet facility demands.
Competence in safely operating custodial/maintenance equipment, including wet and dry mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, handcarts, ladders, chemical cleaners/detergents, snow shovels, electric scrubbers, and hand tools.
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with one to two years of custodial experience. Additionally, a current and valid Colorado driver's license is a requirement. CPR, first aid, and AED certifications are also necessary, or candidates should demonstrate the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
Work Environment:
The work can be performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. There are moderate to loud noise levels, along with occasional high vibrations. Workers may be exposed to fumes, odors, and dust. They need to be resilient to cleaning agents and chemicals. Inclement weather may also be a factor affecting the job. Additionally, there may be occasional encounters with mechanical hazards.
Physical Activities: The job requires lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance. This position also requires physical agility and skill, as most of the time will be spent on one's feet.
Travel: The job may entail traveling to various facilities across the district. Additionally, attendance at meetings or workshops outside the district may be necessary.
