Overview

Our client is a well-known Chinese institution with SFC Type 10 license in Hong Kong. We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Fund Administration to lead the establishment and execution of the fund administration services function from the ground up. This pivotal role will be instrumental in creating a robust operational framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and executing daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

Establish Fund Administration Function

• Design and implement the fund administration processes, policies, and procedures.
• Build a high-performing team to support fund operations, including onboarding, reporting, and reconciliation.

Operational Management

• Oversee daily fund administration operations such as transfer agency, fund accounting, performance evaluations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive reporting framework for stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal policies to mitigate operational risks.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of fund operations to uphold compliance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal departments, including Business Development, Compliance, Onboarding to ensure seamless operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory authorities, and investors.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in fund administration to support strategic objectives.

Team Leadership

• Lead and manage the fund administration team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and support to team members on regulatory changes and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 13-15 years of experience in fund administration or related roles
• Experience in covering various fund types e.g. PE, VC, HF
• Strong knowledge of fund administration processes, investment vehicles, and regulatory requirements within the financial services industry.
• Proven track record in setting up operational functions and managing BAU activities effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Good command in Mandarin and English.
