Description
Reporting directly to the Director of Development & Communication, the Graphic Design Intern assists in creating the visual communications for Calm Waters, including social media graphics and event collateral.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Create graphics for socials (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) for the agency, including ad campaigns.
- Assist in creating printed materials (i.e., informational graphics, invitations, brochures, event materials, etc.).
- Follow branding guidelines of the agency (colors, fonts, branding, etc.).
- Develop, implement, and maintain efficient processes for Calm Waters’ social media calendar.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Development & Communication to support organizational needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development & Communications in monitoring and managing Calm Waters’ social media.
- Assist the Director of Development & Communications in the execution of organizational goals by actively participating in and adhering to the timelines outlined in the Calm Waters Strategic Plan.
- Coordinate with the Director of Development & Communications in personal goal setting for the position and partake in an end-of-experience performance review.
- Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings.
- Assist the Director of Development & Communications in event coordination for fundraising events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development & Communications.
Additional skills and abilities required
- Experience working in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Must be an innovative self-starter searching for ways to simplify processes and enhance programming.
- Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive team member.
- Demonstrates professional demeanor and effectively represents the agency in all interactions and settings.
- Ability and willingness to assist in all development and marketing events.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, volunteers and other stakeholders.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, currently enrolled in a university, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or related field.
