Description
Established Association Management Company is seeking an organized, detail-oriented General Manager to lead an organization that provides services to multiple statewide non-profit trade associations. The General Manager will support and execute association directives as outlined by the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have experience managing operations including customer service, sales, marketing, IT, HR, communication and accounting/finance.
This role is structured to be a part-time position with an expectation of 20-30 hours per week.
Organizational Focus:
Align the organization’s resources to exceed customer service needs, while managing costs.
Review operational processes and look to simplify and standardize processes to maximize employee efficiencies.
Serve as Operations Manager and direct a team of professionals including Education Specialist, Communications/Publications manager, Membership/Sales Manager, Events Manager, Office Manager, Finance/Accounting Director, and Association Management Executive Directors.
Work with Directors to manage third-party relationships and/or establish third-party relationships for outsourced services like IT support, publications, and Human Resources.
Revenue Focus:
While our clients generate revenue through membership, education and event sales, the employees under the direction of the General Manager are tasked with focusing on this revenue sustainability and growth. The General Manager will also be responsible for developing strategies and processes to increase the number of clients to the organization. Having experience selling services to non-profit organizations or Business-to-Business sales experience is a plus.
Requirements
3 + years of experience in a similar role as an executive level manager, preferably in the association management industry or business-related industry that provides services.
Experience working with databases, email platforms, and office technology, and understanding how to leverage technology to improve office efficiencies.
Experience managing third-party relationships including negotiating contracts and establishing metrics is a plus.
Sales Experience in the non-profit or business-to-business office for services.
