Job Summary
The Director of Sales and Outreach reports to executive leadership and is responsible for designing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to achieve annual occupancy and revenue goals for assisted living and memory care services. This role promotes a positive community image, builds strong referral networks, and oversees the full sales cycle from lead generation through move-in. The position also manages sales team operations, marketing initiatives, and compliance with applicable regulations, while ensuring a high standard of professionalism and resident-focused service.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans, including goals, objectives, and budget oversight.
Monitor expenditures, establish spending priorities, and prepare budget variance analyses.
Contribute to branding, positioning, promotions, advertising, public relations, events, and website strategies.
Collaborate with internal marketing teams to design and produce promotional and event materials.
Analyze market trends to maintain competitiveness and align services with market demand.
Prepare and present monthly performance, occupancy, and key metric reports.
Represent the organization at public, social, and educational events; plan and facilitate outreach activities.
Build and maintain relationships with referral sources such as senior service agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other professional partners.
Participate in and support tours for prospective residents and professional partners.
Oversee the entire sales cycle, including prospect education, application processes, tours, admissions, and move-ins.
Track and manage prospective resident activity in CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and follow-up.
Manage sales department operations, including hiring, training, supervision, and performance management of staff.
Participate in management and operational meetings as required.
Oversee model apartment staging and presentation standards.
Identify and report concerns related to residents’ physical or psychosocial well-being to leadership.
Maintain knowledge of move-in policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, including housing and elder care compliance requirements.
Stay current on local, state, and national regulations related to senior housing.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of five years of experience in sales and/or marketing; experience in real estate, property management, public relations, or senior living preferred.
Two to three years of progressive management experience, ideally in a healthcare or regulated environment.
Proficiency with office technology and software, including Microsoft Office, CRM systems, electronic document tools, and social media platforms.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to set and track measurable goals.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in compliance-driven settings requiring confidentiality and adherence to established procedures.
Reliable transportation for networking and community outreach activities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods and stand or walk throughout the workday.
Ability to push or pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, reach, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
Continuous mental focus and visual attention required.
Adequate visual and auditory acuity.
