Description
DescriptionRobert Half is partnering with a publicly traded technology company is seeking its first in-house accounting leader to build and scale the U.S. finance function.
This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO, ideal for an accounting leader who thrives in high-growth environments and wants to build a team from the ground up.
The Role
The Controller will lead global accounting operations and financial reporting for a mulit-entity organization. This position will own the close process, consolidation, SOX framework, and external audit management while building the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close as well as all financial reporting
- Review and approve significant journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables
- Design, implement, and maintain SOX-compliant ICFR framework
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors; manage quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Build and scale the accounting team post-hire
- Partner with leadership on ERP implementation
- Establish scalable processes and strengthen financial reporting infrastructure
- Ensure consistent U.S. GAAP application across global entities
Requirements
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Foundation in Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm
- Strong U.S. GAAP and SOX controls expertise
- Proven success managing and building accounting teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth settings
