Mapp for Congress (NJ-12) — Multiple Campaign Staff Openings
Location: New Jersey (in-state required)
Campaign: Mapp for Congress (NJ-12)
Start Dates: Immediate / Rolling
Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience and role
Status: Mix of Full-Time and Part-Time (with growth potential)
The Mapp for Congress campaign is building a high-performing, New Jersey–rooted team to support a competitive 2026 congressional race in New Jersey’s 12th District. We are seeking experienced, execution-oriented professionals with deep NJ political ties and a proven record of success in state, county, or municipal campaigns.
All applicants must:
Have strong New Jersey political experience (campaigns, government, party committees, or advocacy)
Be familiar with NJ-specific political dynamics, media markets, and voter engagement
Be able to work in-state and collaborate closely with campaign leadership
Open Positions
Communications Director (Full-Time)
Leads overall communications strategy, messaging, earned media, and rapid response.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategy
Oversee press, messaging discipline, and surrogate coordination
Manage Press Secretary and Speechwriter
Serve as senior advisor to campaign leadership
Preferred Experience:
Senior comms role on NJ federal, statewide, or major municipal campaigns
Strong relationships with NJ political media
Press Secretary (Part-Time)
Manages day-to-day press operations and media engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft press releases, advisories, and statements
Pitch and place stories with NJ and regional outlets
Staff candidate at press events and interviews
Support rapid response and message tracking
Preferred Experience:
Prior NJ campaign or government press experience
Familiarity with NJ Globe, Playbook NJ, local TV, and regional print
Speechwriter (Part-Time)
Crafts compelling, authentic remarks for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft speeches, remarks, op-eds, and talking points
Adapt voice for labor, faith, grassroots, and donor audiences
Coordinate with Comms Director on message consistency
Preferred Experience:
Speechwriting for NJ elected officials or candidates
Strong political storytelling instincts
Digital Media Specialist (Part-Time)
Executes day-to-day digital content and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage social media platforms and content calendar
Produce graphics, short-form video, and digital copy
Support email, SMS, and online fundraising content
Monitor engagement and optimize performance
Preferred Experience:
Digital work on NJ political campaigns
Familiarity with ActBlue, NGP, and political ad compliance
Data / Voter File Manager (Part-Time)
Owns the campaign’s data infrastructure and targeting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the voter file (VAN/NGP)
Build universes, lists, and dashboards
Support field, GOTV, and compliance needs
Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
Preferred Experience:
Hands-on VAN experience in New Jersey
Prior work with NJ voter file and targeting models
Paid Canvasser (Part-Time / Seasonal)
Supports voter contact efforts through direct, in-person engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct door-to-door voter outreach and persuasion
Communicate campaign message clearly and respectfully
Accurately collect and record voter data using campaign tools
Meet daily and weekly contact goals
Represent the campaign professionally in the community
Preferred Experience:
Prior paid or volunteer canvassing experience in New Jersey
Familiarity with NJ neighborhoods, communities, and voters
Comfort working evenings and weekends
Strong interpersonal skills and reliability
