Chief Financial Officer
The City of Bristol, VA is seeking a dedicated Chief Financial Officer to join in our efforts in supporting the daily operation of local City government. Your role will be integral in supporting the health, growth and welfare of our community, and fulfilling our mission to making Bristol a "Good Place to Live."

This position reports to the City Manager and is responsible for overseeing the City's financial transactions. The CFO has direct supervision of the accounting staff which includes Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounting, and Purchasing. Directly responsible for internal controls and audit compliance. Serves as Budget Director for the City. Also responsible for strategic financial planning, financial accounting and reporting and debt issuance and management.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in business, accounting, finance, or related field required. Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) designation preferred. Governmental accounting experience preferred. Strong leadership skills including demonstrated supervisory experience in the successful use of technology to enhance financial performance and experience in a high level of concise, accurate communication with elected and appointed officials and staff are imperative.
