Position Description:
The University of Louisville Finance and Administration is seeking to hire a Change Management and Training Lead. The Communication and Training lead partners with a range of units and stakeholders across UofL's diverse financial landscape to drive ongoing value and optimization from the live Workday & Adaptive environment. This role supports teams as they adapt processes, update policies, and build skills for sustained success. While rooted in Workday sustainment, there is opportunity to expand into broader organizational change management initiatives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training Strategy and Delivery
- Refresh and Adapt Training Materials: Review, update, and curate existing Workday Finance & Adaptive training assets so they remain relevant for evolving procedures and system enhancements.
- Targeted, Need-Based Training: Identify and address emerging training needs across a variety of units, designing resources that support local operational priorities.
- Support Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Networks: Build on the established TTT program, providing ongoing coaching, updated materials, and sharing leading practices across teams.
- Onboarding and Continued Learning: Deliver onboarding for new hires and refresher courses for staff, adapting content to changes in systems or policies identified in collaboration with unit leaders.
- Measure Effectiveness and Close Gaps: Use assessments and feedback to address areas of confusion or need, adjusting approaches as required.
Communication Leadership
- Develop and Execute Communication Strategies: Architect multi-channel communication plans that keep stakeholders informed, engaged, and motivated throughout the Workday Finance sustainment journey.
- Stakeholder Analysis: Identify key stakeholder groups and tailor messages to address their specific needs, concerns, and business impacts related to Workday Finance operations and continuous improvement.
- Change Storytelling: Champion the evolving narrative by clearly articulating reasons for enhancements, ongoing benefits, anticipated challenges, and long-term organizational vision. Use storytelling techniques to foster ongoing buy-in and resilience.
- Communication Materials: Produce high-impact content such as project newsletters, executive updates, FAQs, knowledge articles, intranet posts, videos, and town hall presentations that support Workday Finance sustainment.
- Feedback Mechanisms: Implement feedback loops - including surveys, focus groups, and online forums - to gather input, monitor sentiment, and address emerging operational concerns as Workday Finance usage matures
- Branding and Messaging Consistency: Ensure all communications reflect the organization's values, project goals, and brand identity, delivering a coherent and inspiring message at every touchpoint.
Change Management Components
- Operational and Policy Alignment: Partner with teams to surface gaps and help adapt or update local procedures as Workday Finance and business needs evolve.
- Assess Readiness for Process Change: Use surveys, discussions, and data to assess how prepared units are for new system features or operational changes.
- Engage Leaders and Champions: Work with executive sponsors, leaders, and change champions throughout varied units to support adoption and build a culture of learning.
- Support Unit-Level Needs: Track unit-level challenges and resistance, deploy targeted communications or workshops as needed to address specific needs.
- Monitor Ongoing Adoption and Impact: Use engagement data, feedback, and success stories across the financial landscape to highlight value and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Expand Into Broader OCM Support: Be prepared to provide change management expertise beyond Workday Finance as new projects and initiatives arise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Organizational Development, Communications, Education, or related field.
- Workday Expertise: Prior hands-on experience with Workday Finance modules; understanding of key processes such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Expense Management, and Financial Planning.
- Training Design and Facilitation: Proven ability to design and deliver engaging learning experiences for adult learners using blended methodologies. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital content authoring tools is a plus.
- Strategic Communication: Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills; adept at distilling complex topics into relatable, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
- Change Management: Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale organizational change initiatives. Familiarity with change frameworks, tools, and techniques.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build relationships across functional areas and influence without authority. Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leaders.
- Analytical Skills: Data-driven approach to decision-making. Comfortable with metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to measure training and change effectiveness.
- Advanced degree or certifications in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) preferred.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital content authoring tools is a plus.

Target Compensation Maximum:
$113,160.00
Target Compensation Minimum:
$75,440.00
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
