The Position
Prudential risk and regulation play a critical role in safeguarding financial markets. Institutions are expected to manage risks like credit, market, capital, liquidity, and operations-while maintaining strong buffers and controls to remain resilient and protect consumers.
At Forvis Mazars, we support financial institutions in navigating an ever-evolving regulatory environment. We combine regulatory expertise with a practical, hands-on approach-working alongside clients to embed the right frameworks, support strategic planning, and deliver assurance to senior stakeholders and regulators alike.
We wish to appoint an experienced consulting leader to fill a financial services consulting role . The ideal candidate will have a risk, compliance, internal audit, accountancy or similar background and at least 5 years' experience. Our FS consulting team work with and support a range of financial institutions and entities in banking, insurance, asset management, payment and MIFID services.
As an experienced member of the consulting team, you will have the opportunity to lead or support the delivery of a range of projects of a recurring and non-recurring nature in the following areas:
- New regulatory licence applications
- Relevant regulatory investigations
- Prudential FS compliance and risk management
- Design of internal control frameworks
Advanced technical, communication, project management multitasking and client relationship skills are required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Management of relationships with clients
• High quality service delivery
• Leading of client projects
• Reporting into the partners/ directors, working towards the achievement of departmental goals and targets
• Working to deadlines and within budgets on each assignment
• Growing your knowledge of banking regulatory and compliance in the prudential space
• Involvement as an ambassador in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives
• Supporting the delivery of training for the team and department
• Writing articles on regulatory topics for publication
Ideal Candidate
• Qualification in accountancy or relevant industry qualification (e.g. QFA, ACOI, CFA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
• Ideally, a minimum of 5 years' experience within risk/ compliance / banking consulting
• Good understanding of risk and compliance regulations (CRR, CRD, BRRD, IFR/D, EMI/PSD etc)
• Demonstrated knowledge of challenges and developments within the banking industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience of operational supervision of assignments and managing of client relationships
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Strong organisational and planning capabilities
• Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others
• Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure
• Excellent computer-literacy skills
• Experience in a professional services firm
