The Town of Garner is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to perform professional and supervisory work in planning, organizing, and executing the accounting services and activities for the Town. This is a great opportunity to work for a dynamic and vibrant community. The anticipated hiring range is $90,010-113,589 with the full salary range being $90,010-137,167. Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field AND at least two (2) years of professional experience in general accounting
OR
- An Associates degree from an accredited college or university with a major Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field AND at least five (5) years of professional experience in general accounting
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
Previous governmental accounting experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience using MUNIS/Tyler Tech and/or ADP is preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master's degree, a current CPA license and/or a Certified Public Financial Officer designation.
