Description
The Academic Operations Coordinator II will play a vital role in supporting the instructional and administrative functions of the Natural Sciences Unit, which encompasses four academic departments. This position will serve as the primary liaison for course scheduling, academic operations, faculty support logistics, and cross-departmental coordination with the Registrar, Facilities, and administrative leadership. The ideal candidate brings scientific literacy, logistical acumen, and excellent communication skills to ensure timely, accurate, and student-centered academic operations.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with building, publishing, and maintaining the semester schedule (lecture/lab/recitation), including cross-lists, co-/pre-requisites, room assignments, and capacity rules in Banner/CLSS.
- Maintain instructor-of-record assignments and teaching loads (faculty, adjuncts, GAs/TAs); flag workload and scheduling issues for resolution.
- Assist with coordinating advising logistics and student pathway support across undergraduate, graduate, and accelerated/partnership programs.
- Coordinate lab/section operations with Lab Coordinators and the Stockroom (kits, materials, timelines, safety-related operational needs).
- Maintain catalog and academic records; route updates and approvals for course/section changes and related documentation.
- Prepare and distribute term-ready communications and faculty support materials (deadlines, grade submission, key processes).
- Support adjunct onboarding logistics and coordinate access/training needs with appropriate offices.
- Coordinate and supervise student worker tasks aligned to academic operations priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Business Administration, or Science/Technology (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, computer science, information technology, environmental sciences, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or sustainability sciences)
- 4-6 years total full-time work experience with progressive responsibilities.
- At least 2 years in Higher Education administration, Registrar, or Facilities.
- Working knowledge of Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Environmental Science teaching-lab realities (wet-lab safety limits, multi-hour blocks, co-/pre-req pairing, stockroom capacities).
- Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivots, data validation), Word (templates), Outlook (mail
merges/rules), Teams/SharePoint (request forms, trackers).

sciences, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, and sustainability sciences)
Salary Range:
$48,000 - $66,000
Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt
Physical Demands: General Office Environment
